P1-XL

P1-XL was a floating cube-shaped droid who was present on[1] the Core Worlds planet[2] Alderaan[1] around 3625 BBY.[3] P1-XL's plating was a highly visible orange color with silver plating around most of the droid's edges, ensuring that his owners would not lose sight of him. The droid had a photoreceptor on the center of one of his side faces and two holoprojectors, one below his photoreceptor, one on his right side, and one on his top face. P1-XL had two vents on his left face and a periscope on his top face.[1]

The BX-23 Probe Droid was identical in shape to the P1-XL droid, but with green plating.[4]

Behind the scenes

On May 2, 2022, P1-XL was announced to appear[1] in the 2022 expansion Legacy of the Sith to BioWare's 2011 massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.[5] The droid was made available as a minipet in honor of Star Wars day, May 4, and was gifted to players who logged in between May 3 and May 10 of that year.[1]

P1-XL was designed, modeled and animated by Bradley W. Lewis.[6]

The pet shares its model with BX-23, the minipet for Star Wars day 2023.[4]
