Outpost 716 was a well-defended command center and outpost used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars between the Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems.[1] In 22 BBY,[2] the base stood strong against Confederate attacks: General Grievous,[1] a master tactician who served as the leader of the Separatist Droid Army,[3] attacked the base, but even his assault failed. When Count Dooku sent assassin Asajj Ventress to capture the base, she succeeded via subterfuge; Ventress allowed herself to be captured and struck once Jedi General Mayanka Catrine departed.[1]
