Ordiron was a human who served as a governor of the Galactic Empire during the first year of its reign.[1] Around 19 BBY,[2] Ordiron attended the COMPNOR-Alpha summit organised to enable regional governors like them to socialise with select representatives from the Galactic Senate and Imperial judiciary, including several former members of the Separatist Parliament. During the opening-night gala, Ordiron was introduced to a collection of different individuals that included the Chandrilan Senator Mon Mothma, who listened as the governor presented their "big ideas" for the future, theorising that utilising droids for labor work devalued organic life. This suggestion appalled Mothma, who recognised that the hypothesis was a thinly-veiled justification for slavery that was widely used across the Outer Rim Territories.[1]

Star Wars: Edge of the Abyss on Penguin Books' official United Kingdom website (backup link) establishes the events of Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear take place thirteen years before the events of Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss.
Rebecca Roanhorse (@rebeccaroanhorse) on Instagram (post): "Title and updated release date of my upcoming STAR WARS novel announced at SDCC. THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS takes place a year before Andor S1." (backup link) states that Edge of the Abyss takes place a year before the events of Andor Season 1, which are set in 5 BBY per the reasoning here. Therefore, the events of Edge of the Abyss must be set in 6 BBY, and the events of The Mask of Fear in 19 BBY.
