Ord Namurt was an Outer Rim planet in the Galactic Republic, and the site of an Ordnance/Regional Depot. An'ya Kuro, known as the Dark Woman, had a training ground for Jedi students on the planet. She was training Aurra Sing on this planet when the girl was kidnapped by star pirates.
History
- "We never really connected. When Aurra was kidnapped by star pirates on that trip to Ord Namurt, I decided to let her go. It was the will of the Force, I told myself."
- ―An'ya Kuro
Ord Namurt was a planet in the Outer Rim[1], located in the Tharin sector, a densely populated region of space and a crossroads of numerous hyperlanes near Hutt Space. Around 13,000 BBY, when the Core Worlds, represented by the Galactic Republic, were taking their first steps in exploring the worlds on the galactic frontier, Ord Namurt was chosen for the construction of military and reconnaissance bases on the planet, establishing a foothold for the Republic in the region. Each such installation was designated as a Ordnance/Regional Depot (ORD), a title that would be preserved in the planet’s name for millennia.[5]
In 11,987 BBY, the Pius Dea theocratic sect, which adhered to anthropocentric views, seized power in the Republic. Just over half a century later, during the Pius Dea Crusades against alien species, the cult launched its third invasion of Hutt Space, known as the Fourth Pius Dea Crusade. During the war, the cult’s forces struck Delacrix from Ord Namurt, passing through the planets Vaathkree and Klatooine.[3]
Aurra Sing was training on Ord Namurt when she was kidnapped by star pirates
Around 44 BBY Jedi Master An'ya Kuro, known as the Dark Woman, had a training ground for Jedi students on the planet[6]. She was training Aurra Sing on this planet when the girl was kidnapped by star pirates, during a trip to Ord Namurt.[7]
Near 34 BBY, Trench, while in the employ of the Corporate Alliance, led the destruction of a pirate base on the planet.[3]
Behind the scenes
The planet was called "Ord Manurt" in the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook, and misspelled as "Ord Namur" in Jedi: Aayla Secura.
