Ord Fanthal[1] was a world[4] located in the Ord Fanthal system, a part of the Ojoster sector[3] in the Trans-Hydian portion of the Outer Rim Territories.[2] Ord Fanthal served as an Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost for the Galactic Republic during the Pius Dea Era, a period of time that lasted between approximately 12,000 BBY and 11,000 BBY, despite it being located outside the borders of Republic space.[1]
During that time, Ord Fanthal was situated in what was considered to be Wild Space. When the Republic launched the Crusade of the Wilds against the various alien species inhabiting space north of its borders in 11,791 BBY, Republic forces advanced from Ord Fanthal in the trailing direction.[1]
Behind the scenes
A world named "Ord Fenthal" was introduced in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.[1] Later, however, the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Fry, only listed an "Ord Fanthal" star system, which it placed in grid square O-7. This article therefore assumes that the name of the world from The Essential Guide to Warfare was changed to the latter variant.[3]
