An orbital shipping facility circled[1] the planet[2] Dantooine during the High Republic Era.[1] It was a part of the Dantooine system, located in the Raioballo sector of the Outer Rim Territories[2] and the New Territories,[3] and was situated in grid square L-4 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[2]
In 232 BBY,[4] the destruction of the freighter Legacy Run during hyperspace transit caused the Emergences—a series of instances where, throughout the Outer Rim, debris from the vessel entered realspace at near-lightspeed, at times with devastating consequences. In response, Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh of the Galactic Republic ordered a blockade of hyperspace routes in the Outer Rim to prevent similar disasters from occurring. The blockade created heavy logistical problems for Outer Rim star systems, and the orbital space station above Dantooine coordinated a large aid shipment for them. However, the facility was itself destroyed by one of the latest of then–twenty-one Emergences.[1]
Behind the scenes
The orbital shipping facility was mentioned in the 2021 novel Light of the Jedi, written by Charles Soule as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I.[5]
