The Old Research Facility, also known as Old Republic Facility, was a research facility on the planet Mustafar. Originating from the time of the Old Republic. It was rumoured to be inhabited by strange creatures and aggressive guard droids.
During the Galactic Civil War, the droid known as HK-47 transferred itself to this facility, and employed an individual to activate the facility's power, and then travel to the droid factory and re-activate it.
Behind the scenes
The Old Research Facility appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[2] The Old Research Facility was added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Trials of Obi-Wan on November 1, 2005.[1]
