The Odos systems were a group of star systems[2] situated within the Meridian sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] They contained the Odos system[1] and its planet Odos,[2] which was surrounded by gas clouds.[3]
The Odos systems were located near the Chorios systems.[2] They were also located near the Exodo system and the Spangled Veil Nebula.[4] Most starships that wished to make a hyperspace jump to Coruscant from this region of space departed from the far side of the Odos systems.[2]
In 13 ABY,[5] while at Exodo II, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian were attacked by an Imperial fleet from the nearby Antemeridian sector.[3] They lost their pursuers by flying the Millennium Falcon through the gas clouds of Odos and the fringes of the Spangled Veil Nebula.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Odos systems first appeared in Planet of Twilight, a 1997 novel authored by Barbara Hambly.[3] They were first described as a group of star systems by the 1998 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia, written by Stephen J. Sansweet.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Odos system, and therefore at least a part of the Odos systems, in grid square R-7.[6]
