The octuptarra was a tall vine walker native to the Skakoan homeworld of Skako. The Techno Union adopted the name for its tripodal Octuptarra combat tri-droids used during the Clone Wars.
The octuptarra itself was an eight-eyed creature with a gasbag-shaped head. These vine walkers had numerous legs sprouting from their bodies, and had evolved to survive in the high-pressure atmosphere that forced the native Skakoans to wear specialized pressure suits on planets with a low-pressure atmosphere. Skakoans kept octuptarras as family pets.
