Oakie Dokes was a Swokes Swokes female artist born to a wealthy schinga breeding family on the planet Makem Te. Dokes was sent to the planet Coruscant by her family to represent their ranch in the Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition. On the planet, Dokes got in over her head and her vanity led to her family's savings account being emptied. Knowing her parents would be so disappointed they probably would not even eat her, she stayed in the back alleys of Coruscant.
While in the gutters, she discovered her talent of turning her feelings of loneliness in to macabre and gory artwork, using Coruscanti dregs as both canvas and paint. She achieved success and came to frequent the Outlander Club on Coruscant during the Separatist Crisis. During a visit to the club, she was approached by the con artists Dannl Faytonni and Achk Med-Beq, who were interested in sponsoring her work. She trusted her heart and left the Outlander Club that evening with two new friends. In 22 BBY, Dokes approached the wreckage of the bounty hunter Zam Wesell's Koro-2 all-environment exodrive airspeeder after a failed assassination attempt on Senator Padmé Amidala. Dokes was at the Outlander Club shortly after.
Biography
From privilege to destitution
Oakie Dokes came to the planet Coruscant (pictured) to represent her family's ranch in the Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition.
A privileged[2] female member of the Swokes Swokes species, Oakie Dokes was the firstborn child of a family of wealthy schinga breeders on the[1] Outer Rim planet[3] Makem Te. Dokes's Dam sent her off planet to represent her family's ranch in the annual Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition on the[1] planet[4] Coruscant. On the metropolitan world, Dokes got in over her head as her vanity led to out of control spending.[1] She squandered her fortune[2] and emptied the family's saving accounts by purchasing troves of precious gems to implant into her body.[1]
The destitute Swokes Swokes fled to the back alleys of Coruscant, knowing her parents would be so disappointed that they would probably not eat her.[1] She lived a credit-less life in the undercity[2] gutters as she realized she had a priceless talent, the ability to transmute her feelings of loneliness into powerful art. Using similarly run-down Coruscanti dregs as her canvas and her paints, Dokes became a notable underground artist whose works were macabre, unsettling,[1] and gory.[2] She achieved success and climbed the social ladder of Coruscant and reached the strata that contained the[1] nightclub and gambling hall[5] known as the Outlander Club in Coruscant's Uscru Entertainment District,[1] becoming a frequenter of the club during the Separatist Crisis,[2] which started in 24 BBY.[6]
Making friends
Oakie Dokes spoke to a Human in the Outlander Club.
At the club, two con artists[7] dressed in Republic uniforms, Dannl Faytonni and Achk Med-Beq, approached Dokes, interested in sponsoring her future works. She was suspicious despite Faytonni's charm, as "mutual opportunity business partners" in Galactic Basic Standard sounded uncannily like a Swokes Swokes word for "suckers." Trusting her heart, Dokes left the Outlander that evening with two new friends[1] and an uneasy working relationship.[2] She had interesting ideas about a composition of dismembered extremities draped in tattered Republic uniforms, though she had to wait until inspiration bit. Should the Swokes Swokes be pawned by the pair, the expensive gems implanted into her body were her reserves.[1]
During a night in 22 BBY,[8] Dokes with a crowd of people approached the crashed[9] Koro-2 all-environment exodrive airspeeder[10] of the bounty hunter Zam Wesell in the Uscru Entertainment District.[9] The bounty hunter, fleeing the Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi after a failed assassination attempt on Senator Padmé Amidala, then left the wreckage and ran into the Outlander Club. Dokes was inside the Outlander Club when Wesell went in to hide, speaking to a Human near the club's bar when the Jedi entered after her. When Wesell was disarmed by Kenobi, Dokes stood near the bar and looked on as the bounty hunter was helped up by Kenobi. The Jedi then took Wesell outside and interrogated her.[9]
Personality and traits
Dokes was considered to be a swoon-worthy beauty[1] and to be beautiful in her own special way.[11] After getting in over her head on Coruscant, her vanity left her destitute. While in the gutters of the planet, she realized she could turn her feelings of loneliness into art. Even though she was originally apprehensive of Faytonni's partnership, she trusted her heart and left the Outlander Club with two new friends—Faytonni and Achk Med-Beq.[1] Dokes, with her gray skin and red eyes,[1] was puffy and badly in need of orthodontics.[12]
Equipment
The Swokes Swokes had many precious gems implanted into her body.[1] During her visit to the Outlander Club[9] in 22 BBY,[8] Dokes wore a black cocktail dress[12] with a large collar.[9]

Oakie Dokes first appeared in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.
Oakie Dokes first appeared in the prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,[9] and in its video game adaptation.[13] Both released on May 16, 2002.[14][15] The Outlander Club scenes including Dokes, who was portrayed by uncredited extra,[9] were shot at Fox Studios, Sydney on July 17, 2000.[16] On set, director George Lucas joked that the character was the date of Dannl Faytonni, played by Anthony Daniels.[17] Dokes and other patrons of the Outlander Club were named by George Lucas and his film production company, Lucasfilm, during the production of the movie.[18] The character's name is a rhyming affirmation with Swokes Swokes, which came from the wife of creature effects supervisor Nick Dudman, Sue Oakes.[12] Prior to the film's release, Dokes was first pictured in the documentary "A Twinkle Beyond Pluto,"[17] released on July 31, 2001.[19] The character was first identified on May 1, 2003, though the Image Attack feature on StarWars.com.[11]
In the April 6, 2004,[20] article "Who's Who in the Outlander Club: It's Ladies' Night", published in the seventy-fifth issue of Star Wars Insider, author Daniel Wallace writes that the character is a "nightmare" and an "arresting sight" in her dress.[12] The image of Oakie Dokes on the Image Attack inspired author Pablo Hidalgo to feature a Swokes Swokes in a similar position in his webcomic Rookies: Rendezvous,[21] published between February 6[22] and May 10, 2006.[23] A StarWars.com Databank entry for Oakie Dokes was written by the Hyperspace user "Grand Admiral Sean8", who elaborated upon her story through the Hyperspace feature, "What's The Story?."[1] The entry was posted at some point by March 31, 2008.[24]
