- "The Aii`tkian Anthropologists in Area D-502 have found a new strain of copper thanks to the O.S.S. "Junk Dealers" Guild. The scientists believe the new copper will be used effectively for starship shields and various parts."
- ―Imperial Daily News
The O.S.S. D-502 Junk Guild, also known as the "Junk X'press" Guild, was a group of junk dealers active in the Dantooine system during the Galactic Civil War.
Description
The O.S.S. D-502 Junk Guild operated in the Dantooine system. They were based in the Area D-502[1] but were also present in the Wall of Dantooine asteroid field and near the destroyed Legacy YT Indigo Blue station.[5] Due to the lack of protection provided by the Empire, the O.S.S. D-502 junk dealers had allied with a group of scientists, the Aii`tkian Anthropologists, to protect themselves against the Zel'iphian Slave Traders Guild.[6]
In space, Junk X'press" Guild pilots flew M3-A Scyk fighters and M12-L Kimogila heavy fighters.[7]
History
Around the time of the Battle of Yavin, the O.S.S. Junk Guild and the Aii`tkian Anthropologists discovered a new strain of copper in the Dantooine system's Area D-502. Aii`tkian scientists then investigated whether it was worth to be used to manufacture starship parts.[4]
Behind the scenes
The O.S.S. D-502 Junk Guild appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[7] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[8] The O.S.S. D-502 Junk Guild was added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Jump to Lightspeed on October 27, 2004.[7]
