The Nuna-ball League was broadcast in the Outlander Club.
The Nuna-ball League was a fledgling nuna-ball sports league.[1] The droid manufacturers[2] Veril Line Systems and Industrial Automaton had a team[1] of Otoga-222 maintenance droids[3] and a team of[1] RIC-series general labor droids[3] respectively that competed in the league.[1] In 22 BBY,[4] a match between the two teams was broadcast to a screen in the Outlander Club on the planet Coruscant.[3] Coruscant also had places to eat where customesr could call up the latest results from the league.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Nuna-ball League appeared in the prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,[3] which was released on May 16, 2002.[5] In the current Star Wars canon, it was identified as the Nuna-ball League in "Coruscant," a part of De Agostini's Star Wars Encyclopedia series[1] released on February 9, 2021.[6] The league originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned as the Nuna-Ball League in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #50, an[7] April 4, 2002[8] issue published on the HoloNet News website as part of the marketing for the film.[7] The article was written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens[9] and did not associate the league with the match seen in the film.[7]
