The nuclear engine was a type of atmospheric propulsion engine used as a power source for primitive vehicles. The manufacturers of repulsorlift engines often claimed that primitive engines, such as the nuclear engine, had been rendered obsolete by the advent of the repulsorlift. Despite this, nuclear engines were still in use on less-developed worlds.[1]
