Nova crystals were a valuable commodity in the galaxy. The young Ezra Bridger, a street orphan from Lothal, once stated that a single case of nova crystals would be enough to set him up for life.[4] Deposits of the crystals were located at the Verdigris Hills on the planet Elphrona. Herbs that grew out of these deposits were potentially edible.[2]
