Nog was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories' Mandalore sector. Nog occupied the first orbit of the Mandalore system, located closest to the system's star, Mandalore. Nog's close proximity to its sun rendered the planet a searing rock. After the Taung forces of Mandalore the First journeyed from Roon to conquer the uninhabited planet that became Mandalore,[1] the newly renamed Mandalorians spread out to conquer the planets of the surrounding system,[3] including Nog.[1]

Nog was first introduced into Star Wars canon in the 2009 reference book, The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.
