Nnedi Okorafor is the author of "The Baptist," a short story that was published in the 2017 anthology collection From a Certain Point of View. She is the daughter of two Igbo Nigerian immigrant parents. Okorafor is a professor of creative writing at Chicago State University.[1] Nnedi is the author of several award-winning books including Lagoon, Who Fears Death, Kabu Kabu, Akata Witch, Zahrah the Windseeker, and The Shadow Speaker.[2] Okorafor has won several awards including the the Hugo, the Nebula and the World Fantasy Award, as well as the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa.[3] She lives in Chicago with her daughter, Anyaugo, and family.[1]
