A language was used by the Nikardun species.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] General Yiv, the leader of the Nikardun nation of the Nikardun Destiny, spoke the language aboard his Nikardun Battle Dreadnought Deathless with the warship's bridge crew. While the Nikardun spoke the language, Yiv's two hostages, the Chiss Che'ri and Mitth'ali'astov, core name "Thalias," found themselves unfamiliar with the speech, with Thalias realizing that it was the Nikardun's own language.[1]

Behind the scenes

The language appeared in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, Timothy Zahn's first entry in The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
