The Xerrol Nightstinger blaster rifle, was an unusual type of blaster rifle popular with assassins and intelligence agents.[1]
Characteristics
The Xerrol Nightstinger was a well-balanced hunting rifle with an extreme range and exceptionally heavy punch-per-shot, allowing it to kill large and dangerous creatures at very long distance. The Xerrol was notorious for its secondary fire function; when a switch was flicked, the Xerrol could fire completely invisible bolts, effectively masking detection of the shooter by tracking tracer fire or muzzle flash.[1]
This feature, which Xerrol claimed was for night hunting and stalking light-sensitive beasts, made the Xerrol illegal to own across the galaxy, though made it a favorite among assassins and intelligence agents. This stealth mode feature was not without drawbacks, however, as the power requirements for firing invisible bolts was incredibly high - this resulted in a drastic decrease in rate of fire as a result.[1]
