Nightsnakes were a species of snake native to the planet Batuu. Their calls could be heard from within Black Spire Outpost. Some residents of Batuu raised nightsnakes to be pets or for other reasons.[1] Some people would carry nightsnake scales as charms for courage.[2]
The scoundrel Kay Vess bought a nightsnake scale charm from the traveling Quarren merchant Shuma[2] in 3 ABY[3]
Behind the scenes
Nightsnakes were created for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which opened to guests at Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019. While not physically present in the park, sound clips of the snakes' calls can be heard in certain areas.[1]
A nightsnake scale could be equipped as a major charm in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws and published by Ubisoft. In the game the charm increased the damage of the players blaster after they swapped modules.[2]
