Nick Tyrrell (@nickjtyrrell) on Instagram (post on June 27, 2024): "'Was that its name?.' - THE STRANGER - Star Wars: The Acolyte: S01E05 One of the other designs I was fortunate enough to do for The Acolyte was the Strangers Cortosis helmet. This was a real challenge set down by Lesley as the mask had to have a sinister smile incorporated. The final design was a helmet which had exposed tubes that resembled teeth. My idea was that the tubes were some sort of breathing apparatus/ voice changer that was exposed and that the teeth look was just a happy accident. After the concept stage I then continued on to 3D model, mould, assemble and paint the helmet/s and finally take them to set everyday. It's very rare to see a project through from start to finish like this and I'm extremely grateful to my HOD @paulszebesta for giving me the time and trust to complete this task. Getting to work with @mannyjacinto and being a part of the characters creation with him is without doubt the highlight of my career. It was a genuine pleasure to get to know him I can't thank him enough for being so kind and supportive. As well as being an outstanding actor he is also insanely good with a lightsaber! It was fire 🔥 Also a massive thank you to @lu_junchang for not damaging the helmets during the extreme stunts he had to do. Watching him preforming stunts and amazing lightsaber fights was always incredible!" (backup link)
