The Nevoota Bee was an Acclamator-class assault ship of the Republic Navy that participated in the Battle of Muunilinst in 22 BBY during the Clone Wars, where it operated as a fleet carrier, transporting 156 V-19 Torrent starfighters into battle.
Description
The Nevoota Bee was an Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship[4] that was 752 meters in length, 460 meters in width, and 183 meters in height.[2] Its hull was gray in color, and it was equipped with at least two sublight engine units and a ventral hangar bay.[1] It had the capability to transport[4] and launch[1] 156 V-19 Torrent starfighters. The Nevoota Bee[4] partially shared its name with Nevoota, a group associated with the Nevoota stimulant pollen[5] and the Nevoota system.[6]
Role
While Acclamators commonly served as troop transports or as data-gathering starships, the Nevoota Bee was adapted to serve as a fleet carrier, transporting starfighters to battle.[4]
History
The Nevoota Bee served within the naval forces of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems,[4] which lasted from 22 BBY to 19 BBY.[7] In 22 BBY,[8] the Nevoota Bee participated[4] in a financially destructive[8] battle[4] at the Outer Rim[9] planet[8] Muunilinst, where it transported a complement of 156 V-19 Torrent starfighters[4] against the Confederacy's forces.[8]
Behind the scenes
The Nevoota Bee, as it appeared in Star Wars: Clone Wars
The Nevoota Bee was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the forty-ninth issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[4] published around December 9, 2015.[10] The Nevoota Bee was pictured in "Teaming Up," an article posted on Fantasy Flight Games' official website on November 9, 2020 for their Galactic Republic Fleet Starter expansion pack for the Star Wars: Armada miniatures game. In the game, if the Acclamator leading starfighter squadrons into battle is the Nevoota Bee, then the player can use the card's squadron dials and tokens to help its starfighters use the Swarm tactic against opponents during their activation. Simultaneously, the Nevoota Bee card can make squadrons that already have Swarm reroll a die while attacking a ship.[11]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Nevoota Bee was introduced in the second episode of the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series,[12] which aired on November 10, 2003.[13] It was later identified in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a 2012 reference book authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.[14]
