Neuronic whips were a type of whip with a metallic cable that, by the time of the Galactic Civil War, had a reputation for being the preferred weapon of enslavers. Borstel Galactic Defense produced a type of neuronic whip called the neuronic lash that they tried to distance from this reputation by changing its appearance and overall function, replacing the metallic cable with a flexible energy strand that was incapable of causing physical injury.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, neuronic whips were mentioned in the 2019 Star Wars Roleplaying supplement Gadgets and Gear, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1] The whip originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in L. Neil Smith's 1983 novel Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu.[2]
