- "There is no more selfless act than to perish for another's cause."
- ―The master speaks of Ukul's sacrifice
A master of the Jedi Order took on the male trainee Nes Ukul as a padawan. Ukul sacrificed himself while defending a species whose language he couldn't speak on a planet which he did not know the name of. The Jedi Master then commented that the padawan's death had been a noble one as it had been for another's cause. The antiques dealer Antron Bach later remembered the master's comment on Ukul when considering if he should give his own life to allow the Corellian Resistance member Miru Nadrinakar to escape the Galactic Empire.[1]
Behind the scenes
Nes Ukul's master was first mentioned in "The End of History" a short story written by Alexander Freed and published in Star Wars Insider 154. The story did not include Ukul's master species.
