Neonan Red Cheese[2] was a crimson[3] cheese[2] originating on the planet Neona.[1] It was exported from the Tapani sector to the wider galaxy.[3] Neonan red cheese was often served alongside soup and bread.[2] The cheese was served aboard the luxury repulsortrain Gem of Alderaan[5] and at the annual Vor-cal Feast held aboard the House Melantha Orbital Hunting Lodge over the planet Vycinyth.[2]

After the Battle of Yavin, the businessman Zoda Burb offered a container of Neonan red cheese to Brantlee Spondoon, the assistant to the Diktat of the Corellian sector Daclif Gallamby, in order to win favors from the Corellian government.[4]
