Na Jang, translating to "explosive power" or "issuing power," was an unarmed combat art drawn from[1] the ancient[2] martial disciplines used by the Kaleesh hunters,[1] the ruthless[3] reptilian species[4] native to the planet Kalee,[5] and adapted for training[1] various[2] military units[1] throughout the galaxy.[2]
The key was to perfectly coordinate body mechanics, breath control, and focused intentions to generate powerful and precise attacks. Na Jang stressed the integration of the complete body, employing the legs, hips, waist, and shoulders in a synchronized fashion rather than depending exclusively on the strength of individual muscles.[1]
Jedi Master Mace Windu was a practitioner of Na Jang.[1]
Behind the scenes
Na Jang appeared in the novel Mace Windu: The Glass Abyss, written by Steven Barnes and published in 2024.[1]
