Muerdo was an Utai spy under the employ of Hutt crime-lord Vedo Anjiliac Atirue.[1] In 138 ABY,[2] Muerdo used a mouse droid to learn of Admiral Gar Stazi's presence on the world of Utapau. Muerdo passed the information to Atirue, who in turn gave it to the One Sith, hoping to lure the Sith scientist Vul Isen into a trap.[1]
