"Time to see who's smart enough to join the hunt. Open fire!"
―Garnac's orders that caused Morgo's death — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[2]

Morgo was a Selkath with gray skin who lived during the Clone Wars, a galaxy-spanning conflict between the Galactic Republic and a group of secessionists.[2] In 21 BBY,[1] Morgo was kidnapped by a group of Trandoshans to be hunted for sport, and placed in a cell on a slave ship[2] called the Vermin-Thrax[3] alongside Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano,[2] the Terrelian Jango Jumper Lika, the Snivvian Katt Mol, and the Sakiyan Vadoo.[4]

Morgo and the other prisoners were taken to the moon Wasskah and dropped out of the ship onto an island beach. The Trandoshan leader Garnac opened the hunt by ordering his subordinate Lo-Taren to shoot at the prisoners from the ship's laser cannon. Morgo attempted to run to safety but covered little ground before being hit by the blasterfire and killed.[2]

Behind the scenes

Morgo first appeared unnamed in "Padawan Lost,"[2] the twenty-first episode of the third season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series that aired on April 1, 2011. The Selkath was later named in the accompanying episode guide published on StarWars.com, which also revealed that Morgo was modeled after Chata Hyoki,[4] another Selkath character who appeared in an earlier episode in the season, "Pursuit of Peace."[5] The character model for Mantu, a different Selkath who later appeared in the Season Four episode "The Box," was based upon Morgo's model.[6]
