Mooring towers on at the Jedi Temple's precinct
A mooring tower was a structure designed to allow for the docking of a starship outside of a hangar or similar structure. During the waning decades of the Galactic Republic, mooring towers on Coruscant allowed docking of larger vessels in the Jedi Temple's precinct. Years later, the Emperor's Tower that rose from the northern pole of the second Death Star was a modified Imperial mooring tower.[1]
