The Moon trees were levitating trees – or similar structures – that flowered in the interstellar space of the Gunninga Gap deep within the Unknown Regions.[1] Among those cosmic trees had dwelled the ancient death cult known as the Knell of Muspilli.[2][3] During the era of the Galactic Empire, the dark side adept Cronal discovered scraps of the lost Taurannik Codex while exploring the drifting lunar trees of the Gunninga Gap.[1]
Behind the scenes
In real life, the «Moon trees» were plants that had sprouted from about 500 seeds which had traveled in the personal luggage of pilot of the Apollo 14 spacecraft during its Moon mission in 1971.
