Mookiee, a female wokling, lived on the forest moon of Endor around the time of the Battle of Endor.[1] She came of age and received her hood—together with Malani and Gwig—at the Festival of Hoods.[2] She could often be seen playing with a wheeled animal toy.[3] She was named for a legendary huntress in Ewok mythology.[4]
Behind the scenes
Mookiee plush toy
Mookiee first appeared as one of six 8-inch plush woklings made by Kenner as part of their Return of the Jedi toy line[5], then as a figure in their Kenner Preschool division's Wicket the Ewok toy line. She is part of the Endor Woodland Wagon set with Paploo and Latara.[6]
Though Mookiee has yet to be identified in the Ewoks animated television show, two different Nelvana animation model sheets feature variations on a female character named "Mookie," with and without[7] a hood, which matches characters appearing in some episodes. A Guide to the Star Wars Universe and the Star Wars Encyclopedia also refer to her as a character from that cartoon series.[1]
