Molecularly bonded armor was an immensely strong and expensive substance that was intended to protect vaults, bunkers, and containment cells. It was selected to be used in the construction of Stars' End prison on Mytus VII. It was so strong it could hold while being barraged by an Imperial Star Destroyer's turbolasers.[1]
The armor was constructed by holding metals into place using texture-molding tractor fields. Ion fusers are applied to the metals, softening them and even liquefying it. As the resulting alloy cooled, it was bombarded with charged-particle vibrating waves that improved the subatomic bonding strength of the molecules. The end result was a nearly indestructible armor with incredible resiliency.[1]
