Model X was a model of heavy blaster pistol of the "superheavy" designation, and was produced by Caliban.[3]

Characteristics

Packing as much power as possible into its relatively short range of sixty meters,[2] the weapon was was essentially identical in power to the T-6,[4] and shared the same "superheavy" classification due to its abnormally heavy punch.[3]

Despite its power the Model X was somewhat fragile, and required a high amount of maintenance and calibration as a result. SoroSuub Corporation saw potential in the design, though, and when the company acquired Caliban from the Empire, SoroSuub redesigned the Model X into the slightly less powerful, but sturdier, Renegade heavy blaster pistol.[3]

History

Han Solo temporarily used a Caliban Model X, admiring the weapon for its incredible power, even going so far as to compare it to a larger blaster rifle in terms of stopping power.[2]
