Mirim Kess was a Kel Dor senator during the days of the Galactic Republic. During the final year of warfare between the Galactic Empire and New Republic, Kess was invited by Princess Leia Organa to join the latter as a member of the Senate, which was a source of pride for him. Before he could take this position, however, Kess was assassinated by the Trandoshan Kranor on Kewwil, becoming the first in a long line of former congresspeople that once worked within the Galactic Senate, but were unable to join its reincarnation after the Battle of Endor. After the senator's murder, his killer was contacted by the spicerunner Tomasso and mentioned that Kess was only one in a long list created by the rogue Moff Ubrik Adelhard.[2]
