The millitile was a type of creature capable of quickly hiding within holes.[1] In 34 ABY,[2] the sommelier Derla Pidys purposefully flew from the dark side of the planet Cantonica to the city Canto Bight in order to see the horizon of the dark, purposeless world light up with the city's lights quicker than a millitile vanishing into a hidey-hole as she approached.[1]
Behind the scenes
A millitile in Star Wars Legends
In the current Star Wars canon, millitiles were mentioned in "The Wine in Dreams," a novella written by Mira Grant and published in the Canto Bight anthology in 2017.[1]
The creatures originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were first mentioned in Shadows of the Empire Planets Guide, a 1996 supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] Millitiles were then depicted for the first time in the 1998 reference book The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons, which was illustrated by Brandon McKinney and Scott Kolins and written by Daniel Wallace.[4]
