The Microparticle Ion Accelerator,[1] also known as an ion-stream projector,[2] was the center-piece of the TIE Series starfighter. The Accelerator was fed super-charged ions gathered from solar gather-panels, accelerating them to near lightspeed before sending them through repulsor fields and out the Twin-Port Ion Stream Exhaust Vent to provide reaction thrust.[1]
