A swarm of microdroids.

Microdroids were extremely small droids that were used to reveal the location of hidden security lasers. Due to their small size, the droids appeared like dust when grouped in large numbers. Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, rogue archaeologist doctor Aphra utilized these droids to reveal hidden security lasers on Quarantine World III while performing a theft on the Triple-Zero protocol personality matrix.[1]
