Metaxas root was a plant that could be ground up into a poisonous white powder. Ingestion of only a few granules was all that was required to kill most targets. Metaxas powder was fine, odorless, flavor-less, and fast-acting. To reverse the effects of the poison, a gray powder antidote had to be taken at most thirty seconds after poisoning. During his mission to Cog Hive Seven, Darth Maul sprinkled metaxas root powder in a prisoner's food and offered the antidote in exchange for vital information.
