The Merchant's Raised Road was a four-lane raised road that passed through the swamplands around the Toydarian city of Riar, which contained the estates of a number of wealthy merchants. The Road was initially built to allow for faster trade between Riar and other cities, although by the Imperial Era, newer roads had been built that provided even faster transport.[1]
