Mendo was a Nagai guard assigned to the Dark Lady Lumiya's base on the planet Kinooine, alongside fellow Nagai Taru and Rei. In 4 ABY, Mendo was keeping watch outside the base when he was stabbed through the chest by the Iskalonian Kiro, an Alliance of Free Planets agent who was attempting to rescue Luke Skywalker, a captive of Lumiya's. Rei and Taru searched for their missing comrade, and both met similar fates.[1]
