A mem-stik was a simple, unpowered data storage device the size of an average human's little finger. A mem-stik was designed to plug into a datapad or computer to upload or download data. They could be secured by numerous encryption methods, and were often used by spies in dead drops due to their small size and commonplace appearance. Couriers were also known to carry around multiple mem-stiks at all times.[1]
