A medium repulsortank was a type of hovering tank that used repulsorlift technology to propel each vehicle forward. These repulsortanks did not have the same armor or firepower as a heavy repulsortank. Nor did they have the same speed, mobility and maneuverability as an light repulsortank. Instead, they were supposed to be a combination of the best element from both classes. Sometimes the opposite happened.[1]
Imperial army
Medium repulsortank was an official classification in the Imperial army. Eight would be part of an imperial armor platoon plus a command vehicle. By contrast heavy repulsortanks would be organized into platoons with only four.[2] The number could could be doubled with the addition of four more armor sections. Each armor section would have two medium repulsortank.[3]
