Max was a Twi'lek who was one of the freedom fighters that were led by Cham Syndulla during the Clone Wars. In 22 BBY, they were one of the the Twi'leks that were massacred by the CIS forces during the initial stages of the Battle of Ryloth. After their death, Max was one of many freedom fighters who were buried in a Twi'lek graveyard on their homeworld. Max's name was inscribed in Aurebesh on the gravestone.
