Maul's Vengeance

Maul's Vengeance was an uncommon and powerful lightsaber crystal found in the galaxy during the Galactic Civil War.^[1] The crystal was named after Darth Maul, a Sith Lord who lived during the last decades of the Galactic Republic.^[2]

Behind the scenes

Maul's Vengeance appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,^[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.^[3]

Maul's Vengeance was part of a series of 19 unique lightsaber color crystals created in the context of the Publish 9's Jedi system revamp^[4] in June 2004.^[5] However, only one of those crystals — Sunrider's Destiny — was made available in the game.^[6] Maul's Vengeance and the other crystals were not introduced in the game at that time.^[7]^[8] Maul's Vengeance was eventually added to the game with the release of the Hotfix 21.4 on October 20, 2011. Players had a small chance to loot the crystal from enemies defeated during raids.^[9]
