Margaret Towner (October 1, 1920 – April 10, 2017) was a veteran British actress who portrayed Jira in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.
Although her role in The Phantom Menace was relatively brief, she nonetheless became a well-known fixture of fan conventions. She would also talk with fans who visited her home in Twickenham. She passed away in 2017, at the age of 96.[2]
