Marcel Shradeer was first mentioned in the "Starship Fact File" department of the 2015 magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 50.[2] The article was written by Tim Veekhoven, who intended Shradeer to be a human male[4] visible in the 2002 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,[1] and labeled as a steerage overseer in the accompanying Star Wars Legends reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by David West Reynolds.[5]
