The Maraqoo sector was a remote sector located in Wild Space, near the Unknown Regions.[1] The Reo system was the only inhabited star system in the sector.[3]
History
The Maraqoo sector was a freestanding subsector of the Galactic Empire at the time of the Battle of Yavin.[1] This meant that this remote area was poorly explored or insufficiently documented before the Imperial period and was only recognized as a potential sector by the Empire. Yet, the region was not given a formal sector status when incorporated into Imperial Space and was not represented in the Imperial Senate for the time being.[2]
A group of Jedi visited the Celestial Palace of the Thuruht hive of Killiks in the Reo system during the Lost Tribe of Sith emergence.[3]
Behind the scenes
Jason Fry, author of The Essential Atlas, stated that the Maraqoo sector and other sectors listed within brackets in the Atlas appendix were freestanding subsectors.[4]
