Mapuzo was a world[5] located in the Mapuzo system in the Hollan sector,[1] which lay in the New Territories portion[2] of the Mid Rim.[1] Via a hyperlane, Mapuzo was connected to the Nicandra system in the Nicandra sector and the Walin'or system in the Shiwal sector.[3]

Mapuzo[5] was the site of the Mapuzo break-in, which occurred[4] sometime by 2 ABY.[6] In 12 ABY, during the Orinda campaign by the Imperial Remnant, Mapuzo lay within the territory of the New Republic.[3]

Behind the scenes

The 1995 West End Games Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game sourcebook Alliance Intelligence Reports featured a mention of the Mapuzo break-in,[4] after which the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry established the existence of the Mapuzo system in grid square M-7[2] and the 2012 book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Fry and Paul R. Urquhart depicted the system on a galactic map.[3]

On June 1, 2022,[7] "Part III," the third episode of the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, introduced the planet Mapuzo into the current Star Wars canon.[8] The corresponding episode guide on StarWars.com confirmed that in the Star Wars Legends continuity, Mapuzo had been a world that had originally been mentioned in Alliance Intelligence Reports.[5]
