- "Sorry, I didn't make introductions. Eddey Be'ray, here, is one of the best mechanics in this part of space. He can hot-wire just about everything, from a speeder to a battle cruiser."
"Or a manual loadlifter." - ―Reen Irana and Mander Zuma, referencing Eddey Be'ray's usage of a manual loadlifter
A manual loadlifter was a manually-operated walker used for moving cargo. They had larger spatula-like hands and were cheaper than droid loadlifters.[1]
During the New Republic era, the Bomu Clan, a Rodian criminal family, employed three manual loadlifters at a warehouse on the planet Makem Te. In 19 ABY, the Jedi archivist Mander Zuma and spacers Reen Irana and Eddey Be'ray ventured to the warehouse to investigate the death of the Pantoran Jedi Knight Toro Irana and fell under fire from the Bomu and their Swokes Swokes lackeys. Be'ray took control of a manual loadlifter and used it against his Bomu assailants.[1]
