Magnolocks were a type of magnetic lock that were used to secure the durasteel security collars used by Thalassian slavers on those they enslaved.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, magnolocks were mentioned in Gadgets and Gear, a 2019 Star Wars Roleplaying supplement published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1] The locks originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, appearing as "magno-locks" in Riders of the Maelstrom, Ray Winninger's 1998 supplement for the West End Games Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] "Magnolock" was then first used in 2008 in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.[3]
