An magnetic disrupter was a single use device that emitted a targeted anti-mag burst that could disable most basic circuitry panels.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the mechanic, Selo Rovak, gave Kay Vess two magentic distrupters to help her break in and steal an atmospheric accelerator from the Galactic Empire's wind harvester on Toshara. Vess used the disrupters to shut down the outer wind turbine giving Vess access to drive her speeder bike into the facility. As Vess made her way through the facility she regretted not having more disrupters.[1]
Behind the scenes
Magnetic disrupters appeared as an quest item in the quest "The Mechanic" in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws which was developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[1]
